we finished part of our new kitchen--the bar area, and I thought I’d show it.
the kitchen was 20 years old and looked older:) it has a counter height bar area with a small opening to the kitchen. very claustrophobic .we removed the top section of the wall, and raised the countertop to bar height.
it was finished off by adding some bead board, two posts, a couple of corbels and a wood applique to the lower wall.
I found …
and I have these barstools, and really want to try, to slipcover them in drop cloth fabric.
thanks for coming by!

Ditto what Snug in Boots, Josie and Heather said!! :-) I love that ceiling too!
ReplyDeleteWow! That was a HUGE transformation! The beadboard wall with the corbels is gorgeous and it really opens up the space.

This looks fantastic Lynn! As far as the dropcloth slipcovers, go for it. I did it for 8 chairs, and I am so pleased with how they look now compared to how they did. It is so worth the effort. Wash the dropcloth first, it shrinks the first time, but not after that.!
ReplyDeleteIt also becomes a lot softer.
From dated to gorgeous! Way to go! Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a big project!!! LOVE how it turned out!!! (=
