meet harper…

hi everyone:)  my husband was off work this week, and I didn’t get a lot of time to visit, but, I’m catching up.
this is harper, my dress form—I HAD to name her:)  LOVE!  (she’s going to look great with wings at xmas time:)   I’m going to have fun dressing her..or in this case, undressing her.

I wanted a ragged, old look, so I removed her b/w cover.  underneath, she looks like this.  I just added a “necklace”-(a pearl candle ring) and hot glued two flowers to some seam binding and tied them around her neck.
here is her other look—(the flowers I added).

  1. I like her better in her {more nude} state. Hobby Lobby. I haven't been there since long before ankle surgery. I'm going stir crazy and I can't go anywhere for at least another month! Hope they don't haul me to the loony bin by then!

  3. My poor vintage dressmaker's form looks so sad and neglected now that I see yours. Only you would think to remove the fabric from yours and add a lovely flower wreath around her neck. Harper is the perfect addition to your craft room!

  13. Hello Harper nice to meet you pretty gal!
Love the old look you gave her Lynn, so clever to just remove the patterned cover!
I made a new pair of wire and paper pulp wings for mine a few weeks ago, but for Christmas I hope to get or make her a pair of delicate lace wings.
Here's wishing you a happy weekend!

  16. I love it, Lynn! I saw her at Hobby Lobby, too, and was really tempted, but I just don't have the room. I got a small wire one instead.

  18. My dress forms name is Diana.. She came from a senior lady who back in the day was a playboy bunny. So only fitting to name her after her... Love Harper as well. Have a great weekend.

  22. I've seen these dress forms at Hobby Lobby but the fabric wouldn't work for me either. It's good to know that the fabric can be removed.
    Have a fabulous weekend,

  23. Thank you for the lovely compliment that you left on my blog. I am delighted that you like my bedroom re-do. I had a lot of fun doing it. I am now following your blog, but my photo did not go on to the list, so if it doesn't show up after I sigh off, let me know and I will hit that button again. Happy weekend! Connie :)

  26. I love what you did with Harper! It looks great. Like it so much better now than with the pattern. Were you worried? With my luck there would be nothing but stuffing underneath:)

  29. Harper is beautiful. I found a cool dress form at TJ Maxx recently that was burlap. I love her. Now, I will have to say that I would rather have an old one, but I just cannot afford one at this time, so my new "Lola" will do me just fine.

  30. I love that you named her, I would too! I passes up an old dress form at goodwill this week for $7 - don't ask why - I have no clue what I was thinking. I went back an hour later when I came to my senses and it was long gone :(
