shabby lace shade…

thanks so much for all your well wishes—my eye is gonna take some time to heal, and, I have to limit my time on the computer for awhile longer. I have a few drafts already written—this is one of them.
each year, I die white seam binding with tattered angels glimmer mists-to use on projects like cards, home dec, xmas ornies.

(I received the mists as compensation while doing some work for a scrapbook store).  but, you don’t need to buy the expensive mists.
you can make your own mists by just filling a spray bottle (from the dollar store, 3/4 full full of water, and add a little bit of metallic paint—(think, plaid’s folkart acrylic), until you get the shade you want.
to keep the binding manageable-(or to give as gifts), I wrap several yards up with bits of paper, twine, buttons, flowers, or gems.

and I made this lamp by stripping an old shade down to it’s metal frame and added a lace doily, seam binding bow, ruffled fabric and a big paper rose—click here to get a free template to make this easy paper rose.
my husband wired the lamp, and I hung it from one of my birdcage stands.

  17. I was just thinking about you today and realized we had not heard from you!!! Was your retina detached..fully or partially, did you have surgery? My friend is in his early 40's and his just detached last month. It's crazy, of all the things we worry about happening to us physically, a detached retina is usually not on the list! Oh, but our vision is sooooo important! Your seam binding and lamp are gorgeous as always. Take care of yourself...Heal quick! We missed you!
