a simple project…

hi everyone, --here is a simple project that was inspired by a country living post.  the post shares 7 mini makeovers, –while you are there, by sure to check out andrea’s (keeping it cozy) pantry project:)

I started with a piece of trim leftover from a room re-do.  4 holes were drilled and a small piece of applique was added to the top of the board.  the 3 knobs came from hobby lobby, and the metal clip is from a clipboard.

I painted and sanded the basket, made the little wreath and bundle of flowers, and the clip holds a pic of my husband.  you can make one of these as large or small as you’d like to hold tons of things.
thanks for looking!
today’s charming blog is shabby homedreams!

  1. Looks simple and lovely and a great way to use up left over pieces from remodeling projects!

I had to laugh, because your painted basket looks like a Longaberger. I have one that looks identical and after owning it for about 8 or 10 years, I decided to paint it white also. A friend of mine that used to sell Longaberger had a fit that I would paint that basket, but it just matched my decor better to paint it. Here's a link to a blog post that shows my basket (scroll quite a way down the page).

  17. So much effect with a little piece of leftover board and some odds and ends. I have a basket like that. It's unpainted. I thought about doing it, but I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Yours gives me a little inspiration and a kick in the pants. Maybe I'll get it done...along with all the other stuff on my list. That list is getting way too long!

    1. hi angela,

the greenery wasn't real, just realistic, plastic:) i bought a small bundle of the greenery and was able to make two 6" wreaths and the little floral hanging.
