floor chandelier, and a church pew…

we had a busy week, and there were snow flurries today—I’m not ready for that.
my husband was able to take one of my mini chandeliers and attach it to the base of an old floor lamp.

and I added grey blue oval frames around my sconces.  it made the lights standout a bit better.

recently, my husband’s co-worker gave me an 8’oak pew, 1960’s bike for my garden, and an old sewing cabinet for my craft room!—thanks so much for your generosity , mark!
here’s the pew after my husband cut it down to 4’ – and I painted it with some homemade chalk paint.

our kitchen is gutted, –such a mess! hopefully, we will get the cabinets set and painted, install the farm sink, and butcher block counters before thanksgiving.
and this new 5’ window inspired the whole mess.

  4. Love the idea you created with your chandelier! And I don't think I've seen a church pew I don't like. I guess when you're gutting a kitchen, the best thing to do is keep the end in mind. I'm sure it will be wonderful when completed.

  5. I'm tucking away the idea for your floor lamp chandelier- flandelier? What a great idea when wiring to the ceiling isn't an option! Your friends know who to call when they're getting rid of vintage furniture- YOU! I can't wait to see what you do with the sewing cabinet and your kitchen remodel. I know your kitchen is going to be gorgeous!

Fabulous photos of your anniversary weekend and your adorable niece and nephew! We've had snow flurries for the past week and I'm not ready either. :(

  14. Love it all, Lynn! I wish they made chandelier lamps. I'd get one for my side of the bed. : ) I like to read before I go to sleep some nights, so anything blingy also has to provide enough light for me to read by at night. Love the pew. I always thought that would be something cool to have instead of a regular bench in either a front entry or mudroom off the back door.

  27. Your new additions are beautiful. Love the chandelier idea, is it wired?
I did have a large pew from my old church building. It had a lot of personal history behind it. I couldn't fit it in my kitchen, so I gave it to my friend who had a larger home. It looks lovely there and I can still visit it when I see her.
