rose oil painting…

I love rose oil paintings, but, not the prices.   below, is my first try of painting roses in oil.  it has lots of problems, but, for the first try, I’m ok with it, just need tons of practice.

I’ve been busy, not with projects or decorating, but, with whooping cough.  you might consider a booster for whooping cough—trust me, you don’t want to go through that. 8 weeks later, my vocal cords still don’t work.

and I no more got back to normal,—bailey damaged her aclSad smile she’s on rest and meds for now, but, will probably need surgery…

  13. Gorgeous oil painting, your book must be teaching you well! So sorry to hear you had a bout with Whooping cough, that is literally a real "pain in the neck"! I hope you are over it and better now, but if it stirs up again, I found a walk outside in the cold air worked better and longer than the shower steam usually recommended for temporary relief. Feel better soon, big hugs, ~Diane

  15. Hi Lynn, before you go ahead with surgery for Bailey you should get a second opinion. A few years ago we had a staffie cross who looked a bit like Bailey. He did one of his ACL and the vet was all set for a very expensive surgery. At the time I used to take my poodles to a different vet in the city and while there I mentioned Bear and his ACL. The vet brought out a photocopy of an article from a vet university in the USA which said basically that there's no proof that surgery does anything nature won't do on its own. That once a dog has surgery on one leg it almost always needs surgery on the other soon after. We did what the vet said, kept Bear quiet as much as possible, no more chasing balls etc, and eventually his leg came good again. I also know a long time miniature poodle breeder who never does surgery on his dogs for ACL injuries. He would just keep them quiet and they would get better on their own.

  16. First off, sweetie, your painting is beautiful...you show true talent and I think you should keep workng away at it if you enjoy it.

I have hear whooping cough is horrible, I wish the best for you, get over it quickly...sending good karma and prayers.

Your pup is precious. What sort of dog is Bailey? I hope his surgery goes well. My Milo has to have surgery as well, I am hesitating scheduling it...so scary. So I'm in your shoes.

    Get better, Lynn.

    XO,
    Jane
